Davis, 31, remains under scrutiny following an alleged violent incident at a Miami strip club.

The incident led to his arrest in January after a weeks-long manhunt.

While one charge has been dropped, the situation remains serious for the undefeated boxer.

Gervonta Davis Sees Charge Dropped Amid Ongoing Case

Davis has been accused of physically assaulting a South Florida dancer at a gentlemen's club in October 2025.

The alleged victim, Courtney Rossel, told police that she had previously been in an intimate relationship with Davis.

According to her account, the boxer "grabbed her by the back of her head, pulling her by the hair with one hand and by her throat with another."

She further alleged that Davis "forcefully escorted her" down a stairway into a garage area. He is said to have gripped her head before eventually releasing her.

Initially, Davis faced three charges, misdemeanor battery, felony kidnapping and felony false imprisonment.

However, according to TMZ, court documents confirm that the false imprisonment charge was dropped on Thursday.

The remaining charges still carry significant legal consequences as the case continues.

Lawsuit and Past Allegations Add to Mounting Pressure

Rossel filed a lawsuit against Davis in October, accusing him of repeated abuse and threats.

She alleged that Davis assaulted her on multiple occasions and claimed he sent a message stating, "I'll kill you."

"Davis has continued to verbally, physically, and psychologically abuse Rossel," the lawsuit states, via TMZ. "causing her to seek medical treatment, therapy, and assistance with daily living, as she remains in constant fear for her life."

The allegations add to a history of legal issues and previous domestic violence accusations involving the boxer.

Despite the controversy, Davis maintains an impressive professional record of 31 wins, one draw and no losses.

However, his activity in the ring has slowed. He has fought just once since June 2024, drawing with Lamont Roach Jr. in what marked the only blemish on his record.

A planned bout with Jake Paul in November 2025 was ultimately canceled after the lawsuit emerged just weeks before the scheduled fight.

As the legal process continues, Davis' future both inside and outside the ring remains uncertain.
