Focaccia bread and ready-to-eat pizza manufactured by Bakkavor, a Charlotte, North Carolina-based company, are the focus of a recall. In fact, the items may contain metal fragments.

Per the Daily Mail, "2,337 cases of delivery meal kit service HelloFresh's basil pesto and mozzarella pizza" are potentially affected. The product was sent straight to HelloFresh's customers.
Additionally. nearly 24,000 cases of roasted tomato and Parmesan focaccia bread are also being yanked. That item was sold under several different brand names. They include Harris Teeter, Fresh & Simple, Trader Joe's, and Frederik's by Meijer.
Per the outlet, "The affected items were distributed across 10 states: Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Michigan, North Carolina, New Jersey, Texas and Virginia."
The Recall Was Originally Issued in January
According to a US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) enforcement report, the recall was initiated on January 19, 2026. Actually, the FDA classified it as a Class II recall on March 23, 2026. A Class II recall involves a product that, if used, "may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote." The definition comes from the FDA.
Consumers who have the affected items should discard them. Alternatively, people can bring them back to where they were purchased for a refund. Per People, no injuries have been noted to date from these products. However, "the situation remains ongoing."
Bakkavor Was Recently Acquired by a UK Company, Greencore
In a press release dated January 2026, Greencore announced that it was acquiring Bakkavor. Greencore is described as "the UK's leading convenience food manufacturer."
