Singers made of artificial intelligence rather than flesh and blood routinely rank among top-streamed country music artists in what some see as a sign that the genre has become formulaic. Singer Behind Viral Chart-Topping Blues Song Revealed as AI Creation

An AI-generated blues singer has taken over charts worldwide, sparking debate after racking up millions of streams and fans.

A mysterious blues singer has been quietly taking over global charts in recent months.

Eddie Dalton has appeared in the iTunes Top 100 singles chart 11 times this month alone, while his album The Years Between climbed as high as No. 3.

His track "Another Day Old" has also made a major impact, peaking at No. 2 and No. 3 on the official UK singles chart.

But despite the rapid rise, Dalton is not a real person.

He is entirely AI-generated.

Blues Singer AI Creation Sparks Debate After Chart Success

Dalton's music began appearing on streaming platforms in 2026 and has quickly built a sizable audience.

He now boasts more than 480,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, with "Another Day Old" surpassing 1.6 million plays.

Marketed as an aging American blues artist in the mold of Otis Redding or Marvin Gaye, Dalton has convinced many listeners of his authenticity.

In reality, the project is the work of Dallas Ray Little, a content creator based in Greenville, South Carolina.

Little reportedly runs Crunchy Records, a company that produces AI-generated music and videos under multiple fictional artist names.

Despite criticism, he has defended the project and pushed back against claims that listeners are being misled.

"I don't appreciate how my work has been characterized," he said in a statement. "Referring to it as a 'content farm' and suggesting people are being misled is inaccurate; it presents opinion as fact rather than reporting."

"Every social media video is clearly labeled as AI-generated, and many listeners are fully aware of that and enjoy the music for what it is.

"All of the songs are written by me," Little added.

Millions of Streams Raise Questions Over AI Music Boom

Dalton's reach extends beyond streaming platforms. "Another Day Old" has also racked up nearly 2 million views on YouTube.

The comment section is filled with apparent fans praising the music.

"This song makes you appreciate time, life and getting older," one user said.

"Love this!! Anyone past 60 can relate. Thank you, Eddie!!!," another added.

It remains unclear whether all of the engagement is organic or partially driven by bots. Though the response has been overwhelmingly positive.

Dalton is not the first AI artist to break into the charts. In 2025, Solomon Ray, marketed as a Christian singer, entered the Top 100 Christian and gospel albums chart.

Little is also behind other AI-generated acts, including Cain Walker and Cody Crotchburn. Both of whom have amassed millions of streams.

The rise of Dalton is once again fueling debate around the growing influence of AI in music, and how it could reshape the industry moving forward.
