'Storage Wars' Star Found Dead at Home at 67

Actor Darrell Sheets of Storage Wars is dead at the age of 67, per TMZ. According to the outlet, "Lake Havasu Police in Arizona tell TMZ Sheets apparently died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head." They had reportedly been summoned because of a report of "a deceased individual" at Sheets' residence in the early morning hours of Wednesday, April 22. He was pronounced dead and his body was then transported to the medical examiner's office.

An A&E spokesperson told the outlet, "We are saddened by the passing of a beloved member of our Storage Wars family, Darrell 'The Gambler' Sheets. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time."

Darrell Sheets was in 163 episodes of the popular reality show. Per Variety, Sheets was on the show from 2010 to 2023. He was also a guest on Rachael Ray's TV program and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Sheets reportedly had a heart attack seven years ago. At the time, he posted on Instagram via People, "Well here we go I wasn't going to say anything, but you all have been the greatest friends and fans. I've been very sick for 3 months and two nights ago I had a mild heart attack, found out I have congestive heart failure and a severe issue going on with my lung."

Furthermore, Darrell Sheets wrote, "All your prayers would be deeply appreciated thank you for being there for me it's been a great ride...."

He had retired to Arizona where he ran an antique store. It's called Havasu Show Me Your Junk.

He Acquired Some Valuable Items at Storage Auctions During His Career

He got the nickname "the Gambler" on Storage Wars, per People. Evidently, his daring bids at storage auctions paid off handsomely at times. According to the outlet, Sheets' valuable haul during his career included some real choice treasures. Among them were "the world's most lucrative comic book collection." Plus a quartet of Picassos. Those must have been very sought after! His son, Brandon, was also on Storage Wars.
