Mom Accused of Getting Drunk and Biting Flight Attendant

A British mother punched, kicked, and even bit cabin crew and passengers during what prosecutors described as a 90-minute drunken rampage aboard a flight to Cuba.

Zoe Alexander, 36, had to be restrained by crew members before police removed her from the aircraft upon landing.

The incident unfolded on a TUI flight traveling from the United Kingdom to Cuba.

Drunk Passenger Became Increasingly Aggressive Onboard Flight

According to prosecutors, Alexander drank around two-thirds of a bottle of brandy during the nine-hour journey in an attempt to "knock her out."

Instead, her behavior reportedly became increasingly disruptive as the flight continued.

Prosecutor Blaise Morris told Manchester Crown Court that Alexander became "generally rude and abusive" around six hours into the trip.

Court proceedings heard that she began "talking loudly, slurring her words and being overly familiar with passengers and cabin crew."

She was also reportedly "swaying from one aisle to another."

A female crew member told her not to enter a premium section of the aircraft. When Alexander allegedly responded by calling her a "f—----- b—--- c—--".

Prosecutors said flight attendants later discovered a nearly empty bottle of brandy behind Alexander's chair as her conduct worsened.

Cabin Crew Forced to Restrain Passenger Before Landing

According to the Daily Mirror, crew member Gerard Taylor retrieved a restraining kit as staff attempted to calm the situation.

"Alexander repeatedly hit in TV screen on the seat in front of her while shouting 'f*** you' and she continued to be abusive and aggressive," the report states.

"She pulled off the tie of the cabin crew member who stopped her, punched him in the stomach and told him: 'F*** you.'"

Morris said the crew eventually restrained Alexander until the aircraft landed.

Taylor was reportedly "punched and bitten on the hand" while securing handcuffs.

Passenger Graham Murphy, who attempted to assist the crew, allegedly received a disturbing remark from Alexander: "I hope bad things happen to your children. I hope they die.'"

Cuban police escorted Alexander off the plane after landing.

Although she initially denied charges of being drunk on an aircraft and three counts of assault by beating, Alexander later changed her pleas to guilty on the opening day of trial in March.

Her barrister, Eleanor Gleeson, told the court Alexander struggles with mental health conditions, including emotionally unstable personality disorder.

Judge Paul Mason handed Alexander a five-month prison sentence suspended for 18 months and banned her from leaving the UK for 12 months.
