How Did the Fire at Six Flags Magic Mountain Start?
As reported by the New York Post, the Los Angeles Fire Department was dispatched to Six Flags Magic Mountain around 12:30 p.m. to put out the brush fire.
The flames would eventually burn a half-acre of the amusement park before firefighters contained it just over 15 minutes later.
"There were no injuries or structural damage," said Six Flags spokeswoman Sara Gorgon. "The park remains open and is operating as scheduled.
A spokeswoman for the LAFD added, "Thanks to the firefighters' quick response and hard work ... the incident was declared closed at 1:36 p.m."
The cause of the fire remains unknown and is still under investigation.
This Is the Second Incident at Six Flags Magic Mountain in a Month
On May 11, police were on the scene at Six Flags Magic Mountain responding to a bomb scare. It delayed the park's opening by several hours so authorities could sweep for threats.
The good news is that the threat was found to be unsubstantiated. There was no evidence of a bomb at the park. A spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and California Highway Patrol gave the "all clear."
"Earlier today, the park underwent a thorough safety check by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and California Highway Patrol," it read. "The park appreciates the timely response by both law enforcement agencies and values the ongoing partnership and commitment to keeping our community and guests safe."
Kansas City Chiefs' tight end Travis Kelce invested in Six Flags last year. He and Jana Partners purchased 9% of the company's shares in a $200 million deal. It is also rumored that he and Taylor Swift will be married this summer.
