Following the tragic death of 21-year-old Maria Eduarda Rodrigues de Freitas after safety workers forgot to attach her rope, the nurse responsible for trying to save her has spoken out in an interview.
According to LadBible, the attending nurse to the situation said that Freitas was still alive when she found her. Rayza Gabrieli Dias revealed in an interview the final words she spoke to Freitas before she tragically died.
She spoke to Brazilian language TV network Domingo Espetacular about what she experienced. She said that in order to get down to her, she had to go down steep slopes. "It was all covered in mud. I kept going down, down, we walked all the way," she recounted.
She also recounted the moment she found Freitas. "I saw that she was breathing heavily, and I looked at her pupils - which, unfortunately, were both dilated." She also felt her pulse, which was very weak - but, she was still alive, Dias said.
Dias even said that "even though she wasn't actually all there," she tried to lighten the mood a little by speaking to her. She recounted what she said, whilst becoming visibly emotional.
"I still have this habit of joking around and saying, 'nobody dies on my shift'. And I told her, 'Duda [Eduarda], nobody dies on my shift'... Even though I wasn't on my shift there."

The Three Instructors Were Arrested, Citing Safety Concerns
As we reported on this week, the three instructors who pushed her off the Skeleton Bridge near Limeira were arrested. They have ben charged with "homicide with implied malice", which is a charge similar to manslaughter in US terms.
The three were named as 32-year-old Luis Felipe Feliciano Egoroff; Vitor de Freitas Gonçalves; and 42-year-old Maicon Fernandes Cintra.
The Limeira Criminal Court added that they found five aggravating factors which contributed to their detention. These included an attempt to obstruct the investigation.
The safety instructors had fled into a wooded area following the tragic incident, with Egoroff even changing clothes. However, he ended up claiming that his shirt was already wet and dirty.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Freitas' family and friends.
