Dolly Parton Makes Massive Donation to Tennessee Children's Hospital

The generosity of country legend Dolly Parton knows no bounds when it comes to the children of Tennessee. The country star just donated a staggering $1 million to the Monroe Carell Jr Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt University in Nashville.

Parton made the announcement on Fri., Oct. 13. She was on site celebrating the release of her children's album I Believe in You by performing songs for patients. The special visit brought smiles to many children's faces, as you can see in the sweet photo below.

The children's hospital has a special place in Parton's heart. They previously aided her now-grown niece Hannah Dennison's successful childhood battle with leukemia. Album cuts "Chemo Hero" and "Brave Little Soldier" were written over 20 years ago about Dennison.

It's the latest in a long line of selfless acts by Parton. She's especially generous to children in need, giving their families free books via the Imagination Library. Further, she helped people of all ages in the aftermath of last year's East Tennessee wildfire, raising millions for her Sevier County neighbors.
