On Wednesday night (Nov. 7), hundreds were gathered inside Borderline Bar and Grill in Thousand Oaks, Calif. for the venue's "college country night" when a gunman shot and killed 12 people and injured between 10 and 12 more.

The deceased include Sgt. Ron Helus, a 29-year veteran of law enforcement.
According to reports, some of those inside the bar at the time of the incident also survived the 2017 Route 91 shooting.
The Thousand Oaks shooting is the 307th mass shooting in the U.S. this year.
This morning and afternoon, country stars have shared messages of grief and prayers and made calls for change on social media in the aftermath of the shooting.
