In fact, "The Streak" singer is as prolific as ever as he continues to recover from his health issues. But with this good news, there is also some bad news.

What Happened to Ray Stevens?

On July 4, the 86-year-old began having chest pains and was admitted to a Nashville hospital.

"After a heart catheterization procedure, it was determined he'd suffered a mild heart attack," a statement at the time read. "Ray's initial surgery was successful, but performances at his CabaRay Showroom are understandably cancelled through July 2025 as he recovers."

Then, in August, he said that it was "probably time to slow down." Nevertheless, he expressed a desire to perform in the future once he was fully recovered. He also shared plans to sell the Ray Stevens CabaRay Showroom, where he had performed regularly since it opened in 2018.

The 6.5-acre venue offers many amenities for musicians and fans. It features a 713-seat theater, two full-service bars, a 60-seat piano bar, a gift shop, television production offices, a full recording studio, and plenty of storage.

So What Is the Bad News?

Though Stevens shared he is not performing again just yet, he remains optimistic as he works toward getting back on stage.

"I'm trying to get strong enough to continue performing," he said in a statement.

But he shared his desire to sell the CabaRay Showroom for the right price.

"I'd like to sell it," said Stevens. "I just need someone to give me a call and make an offer I can understand and can't refuse."

You Said There Was Good News?

Absolutely. Stevens announced he will release a new album, Ray Stevens Favorites Old and New, early next year, giving fans plenty to look forward to.

"I've got a lot of work I want to do in the recording studio, so I intend to focus my attention there for now," he said.

Additionally, he is preparing to release a new single, titled "Savannah." It will be the first new music from Stevens since he returned from retirement with his album Ray Stevens...Say Whut?
