The money was allegedly stolen over several years, with the crime only brought to light when Maloof reported harassment via unwanted texts.

Per a report by the New York Post, Courtemanche said she's so poor that she can't afford a lawyer on January 13. The outlet points out that while she is currently jobless, her mailing address is a swanky apartment building in Marina Del Rey, LA. Rooms in the complex reportedly cost upwards of $2,700 per month, and some have 'ocean views.'

8NewsNow elaborates that the building even includes a swimming pool and fitness center. The report explains that a grand jury indicted Courtemanche and a friend, Brittany Burgess, for multiple felonies last April. Three counts of theft, one count of laundering or attempting to launder money or property, one gross misdemeanor of conspiracy to commit theft, and one gross misdemeanor or conspiracy to launder or attempt to launder money.

The outlet reveals that Las Vegas Metro police said Jennifer Courtemanche plotted with Burgess to steal nearly $445,000 from Maloof.

The site also exposes a string of text messages Courtemanche allegedly sent to Burgess back in 2017:

"OMG THIS IS IT he broke up with his [expletive] FINALLY and wants me to come out im not letting <redacted> or anythinggggg stop me this is my chance for BOTH of us."

"This neeeeeds to happen."

"I've been so down and out and POOR."

"...we need to get the life weve always deserved no more struggling no more misery mental hospitals ERs etc lol"

The Actress Allegedly Started Stealing Money In June 2021

According to 8NewsNow, Police say the first transaction took place in June 2021. Courtemanche reportedly gained access to Maloof's phone at the time and sent roughly $93,448 in Apple Cash payments. That amount shot up to $275,600 in 2022 and then $75,600 in 2023 for a cool grand total of $444,688.

The news outlet explains that the investigation actually started as a harassment case. Maloof reported he had received several unwanted texts and photos from several VOIP numbers. Authorities traced those numbers to Courtemanche.

Police arrived at her residence with a search warrant, but Courtemanche allegedly pretended she had no idea why they were there. Detectives later revealed they noticed she hid a phone while they searched the premises.

Police state that Countermanche got nearly $433,000 from the transactions, while her friend, Burgess, received almost $12,000. The investigation is currently ongoing.
