Actress Kate Beckinsale has gone through so much overwhelming sadness. The Pearl Harbor star tragically lost her mother, Judy Loe, to cancer last summer. In addition, her father passed away from a heart attack during her childhood and her stepfather died as well in 2024. All the strain and bereavement caused Beckinsale to lose an obvious amount of weight. She opened up about that subject in a weepy Instagram video that is utterly heart-wrenching to watch.

Her candor and anguish are both searing. Beckinsale, 52, also slammed those who have made unkind remarks about her body. The mean-spirited trolls evidently came out in full force, according to the acclaimed English celebrity. Beckinsale seems to be in a similar situation to that of Kelly Osbourne. She has also rapidly lost significant weight since the death of her beloved dad, legendary heavy metal rocker Ozzy Osbourne, in July.
Beckinsale's Video Is Painful To Watch
She posted the video on December 31. Brushing away tears as she haltingly spoke, Beckinsale shared, "Such an incredible amount of suffering...it doesn't make you feel very hungry." She amplified that point. "I think it's shock and trauma...I think watching - especially alone - the people you love most dearly suffer and have horrific and sometimes violent and awful deaths ...really makes you not hungry."
She Harshly Blasted Those Who Made Insensitive Comments About Her Weight
This is clearly a delicate but important topic for Beckinsale, as it would be for anyone. Her suffering has been enhanced by those who piled on with rude comments about her shedding so many pounds. She let them know exactly what she thinks of that.
She said, "For all the people who are inconvenienced by me being too thin or not what they expect me to be like, I really wished you had parents like I had." Beckinsale went on to graphically explain that she suctioned blood clots from her stepfather's bladder because of his heart failure and watched her mother suffer terribly as well.
The actress also vehemently confirmed that because of the wonderful example her parents set for her, she "would never ever" ridicule anyone on account of what they looked like.
