‘Alaskan Bush People’ Star Speaks Out After Being Arrested For Burglary

Rain Brown, a star of the Discovery Channel's "Alaskan Bush People," addressed her recent arrest on Instagram, urging fans not to judge her. Authorities arrested Brown and her husband, Josiah Lorton, on April 11 in Okanogan, Washington, on charges of first-degree burglary and first-degree malicious mischief.

Brown faces an additional charge of second-degree criminal trespass. The 22-year-old reality star denied wrongdoing and promised to share her side of the story.

Police booked Brown, whose legal name is Merry Christmas Kathryn Raindrop Brown, and Lorton, 23, into Okanogan County Jail on April 11. Authorities released the couple on their own recognizance on April 14 without requiring bail. They must appear in court at a later date.

Police have not disclosed details of the alleged incident, leaving fans and media speculating about the circumstances.

Brown broke her silence on Instagram, quoting a Bible verse: "Judge not lest ye be judged. For with what judgment, ye judge, ye shall be judged."

She expressed pain over fans' reactions. "It hurts my heart that my rainbows would choose to believe the lies that my old manager who stole $43,000 from me and abused me instead of maybe thinking 'Oh no, who is saying this about Rain?' Not 'Wow, what a waste,'" she wrote. "It deeply hurts my heart."

She concluded, "With all this said, I hope y'all will stick around to hear my side of the story. God bless y'all." The post has sparked mixed reactions, with some fans demanding transparency.

Brown and Lorton's arrest comes months after their January 2025 marriage. Brown announced their relationship in December 2023, sharing that they met at work.

"Josiah and I met at work of all places. I was a waitress, and he was the head chef," she wrote on Instagram. "We were fast friends and slowly fell madly in love with each other, it was like magnets that you just couldn't keep apart any longer, one day I came to visit and I never left."

In January, she celebrated their wedding, posting, "Baby, this is our world now. Yes. I'm married, y'all." The couple's legal woes now overshadow their recent milestone.

Ongoing Investigation and Star Tensions

The Okanogan County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate the incident. Authorities have not clarified the nature of the alleged burglary or trespass. Brown's arrest follows previous family disputes, including a 2024 restraining order request by her brother Noah, which a court denied.

Brown's supporters await her promised explanation. For now, the reality star faces serious charges as the investigation unfolds. Anyone with information should contact the Okanogan County Sheriff's Office.
