Alexis Wilkins knows what her conservative beliefs are. She is standing by them, despite some blowback from others. Per foxnews.com, for example, Wilkins, 26, says that she got a poor grade in a class she was usually acing. "I was given an F in a class that I have only ever gotten A's in my life because of my politics."

Per the outlet, "Wilkins believed that receiving the failing grade was the professor's way of signaling she wasn't following a push to be indoctrinated."
Wilkins went on to clarify her stance. "When he gave that to me just simply for not going along with the status quo, not writing the papers that denigrated the actions of the Trump administration that I was being asked to write as part of curricula, that was the point where I said, 'okay, it looks like me not saying that I'm a liberal means that I am a conservative' anyway, so I'm willing to draw a line in the sand and I think it's time in this country that we did."
Wilkins Made Some Observations About the Country Music Industry
She wasn't willing to go along with some actions she feels she was expected to take in order to succeed. Wilkins did not compromise her principles or beliefs. "I was told to take an American flag out of my Instagram bio, or that I had to support certain things or do certain things in order to get booked on tours, in order to get signed to a label. There are things that ultimately have to give up, and I wasn't willing to do that and bend the knee to that."
Wilkins continued, "The industry and some figureheads in the industry were just saying that me having an American flag in my bio was going to be seen as partisan." She labeled that "ridiculous" and stood her ground. "It was things that were fundamentally American and things that I wasn't willing to compromise on."
