Alice Hirson, 'Full House' Actress, Dead At 95

Alice Hirson, the actress known for her roles in Full House, Dallas, and 7th Heaven, sadly passed away on February 14, 2025, at the age of 95.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hirson died of natural causes at the Motion Picture & Television Country House and Hospital in Woodland Hills, California. Her son, David Hirson, confirmed the news and details to the outlet. Reportedly, she had been at the hospital for a year before her death.

Many reacted to her sad passing, including General Hospital actor Chris McKenna who personally knew her.

"We lost a radiant soul and a daytime legend," McKenna wrote. "Alice Hirson shone her light on this world for 95 glorious years. My family and I were so blessed to have her in our lives however briefly. Unforgettable woman. Her final words were 'It's nice to have an audience.' Thank you, Alice. Good night. Legend."

Many other fans reacted to Hirson's death. "Loved her on One Life to Live! She was a bright light and she will be missed. I remember her radiant smile," one user wrote. "She was a great actress... very sorry for your loss. A few years ago a member of the OLTL posted a rare episode of her as Eileen from 1975," another user wrote.

A third one, apparently a friend of Hirson's, said: "I am deeply saddened to learn of dear Alice's passing. She was a gentle & generous & funny good soul. She spoke nostalgically about coming back to NY. May this sweet angel Rest in Blessed peace. Miss you already."

Remembering Alice Hirson

Born in New York City on March 10, 1929, Alice Hirson went on to study and graduate from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in 1948. She made her Broadway debut in 1964 in Traveller Without Luggage. She followed it with The Investigation in 1966 and Solitaire/Double Solitaire in 1971. Previously, Hirson had made her television debut as Alice in Starlight Theatre in 1951 and Hallmark Hall of Fame, playing Lucy in 1952.

Hirson would then play Eileen Riley Siegel in the ABC soap opera, One Life to Live, for 59 episodes from 1972 to 1976. Hirson would then appear in 4 episodes of General Hospital as Mrs. Van Gelder in 1982 and three Full House episodes as Claire Tanner in 1987. From 1982 to 1988, she would appear as Mavis Anderson in Dallas, becoming one of the most well-regarded roles in her career. She would also play Lois Morgan, Ellen Morgan's mother in Ellen from 1994 to 1998.

Alice Hirson married Stephen Elliot in 1980 until Elliot died in 2005. Hirson is survived by her sons Christopher and David and her grandson, Daniel.
