The ruling, which had previously been reversed, was made on Friday, Dec. 19. Nancy Kolokotrones, Boodarian's lawyer, informed the court that her client was no longer communicating with her.

"He does have severe mental health issues," Ms. Kolokotrones previously told the court.

According to a search warrant affidavit obtained by Rolling Stone, Authorities were called to the scene at 4:10 pm local time. There was a second call at 4:44 pm.

"In a matter of moments, this couple was senselessly killed in their own home as they returned from the grocery store," District Attorney Nathan Hochman recently said. "This tragic shooting has shaken a Valley community and the notion that home should be our safe sanctuary. Our thoughts and prayers go out to their family and friends who are grieving this tremendous loss."

Hochman has also informed concerned residents that Kaye and Deluca were killed with their own gun. As such, it's clear there was a struggle once the couple found Boodarian inside their home.

"A violent struggle ensued between them and the suspect," LAPD homicide investigator Lt. Guy Golan has previously said.

Raymond Boodarian Has Been Locked up Since the Death of the 'American Idol' Exec

Since his arrest on July 15, Boodarian has been behind bars. He's been charged with two counts of murder and one count of residential burglary with a person present. According to ABC Eyewitness News, "The murder charges include the special circumstance allegations of multiple murders and murder during the commission of a burglary, which could carry a potential death sentence. He is also facing firearm allegations."

Following Judge Maria Cavalluzzi's ruling, Boodarian will now be transported to a mental health facility. An order to keep him involuntarily medicated will reportedly remain in place.

From the LAPD's standpoint, an investigation will now reportedly take place to determine why officers who responded to the initial calls did not detect an intruder at the home of Kaye and Deluca.
