Amazon Driver Caught On Camera Honoring The American Flag During Delivery In Patriotic Display

A routine delivery turned into a heartfelt display of patriotism when an Amazon driver paused to honor the American flag. Mikayla Blakey, a dedicated employee, was caught on camera carefully untangling a flag at a Utah home, earning praise for her respectful gesture.

The moment, recorded on a homeowner's doorbell camera, has resonated widely, showcasing small acts of devotion to country.

Thoughtful Gesture Unfolds

Mike Jacobson, a resident of Mountain Green, Utah, received an alert on Tuesday while working at Hill Air Force Base. His doorbell camera had detected someone at his porch. Expecting a standard delivery, Jacobson was stunned to see Blakey, the Amazon driver, taking time to fix his American flag, which had become tangled in the wind.

Watching alongside a co-worker, Jacobson shared his admiration with Fox13: "She looked up, saw the flag, and took the time to unwind it. It was really cool."

The video, which Jacobson shared to commend Blakey's initiative, quickly gained attention. He hoped her supervisors at Amazon would recognize her for going beyond her duties. For Blakey, however, this act was second nature. Raised by a retired Army Sgt. First Class and identifying as a "military brat," she comes from a family with deep ties to the Armed Forces.

"I was taught to always respect the flag," Blakey told Fox13. "If it's twisted or damaged, you fix it -- or retire it -- because it's a symbol of our country."

Symbol of Everyday Honor

Blakey, who has been with Amazon for just over a month, views her actions as part of a broader commitment. "Every day should be a Memorial Day," she said, emphasizing the importance of honoring the flag year-round.

Her small but meaningful gesture left a lasting impression on Jacobson, who called her not only a dedicated worker but also a devoted citizen. "These little acts, done out of the public eye, mean so much," he said.

This isn't the first time a patriotic act has captured attention. In July 2019, Dom Raso, a former Navy SEAL, climbed a flagpole at the Navy SEAL monument in Virginia to fix a loose American flag during his morning run. "I couldn't pass by without doing something," Raso said. Assisted by bystanders, he later received heartfelt thanks for his efforts.

Blakey's story, like Raso's, serves as a reminder of the power of small gestures. Her actions reflect a deep-seated respect for the flag, inspiring others to honor the symbols that unite the nation.
