"I'm officially a fiancée, Leah Tongi... now I love the sound of that," Leah wrote in the caption. The first image showed her holding Iam's hand with her brand new diamond on full display. In the next pic, Iam is down on one knee popping the question. He appears to have asked Leah to marry him in front of a backyard fire."
Tongi won season 21 of American Idol. During the final of that season, he sang a tribute to his late father called "I'll Be Seeing You," along with "Monsters," which he shared with James Blunt. However, it was his tribute song that secured him the win.
This past year has been a whirlwind for Tongi. He returned to American Idol during Disney week to sing "Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride" from the hit movie Lilo & Stitch. He's also made his Grand Ole Opry Debut and been opened up for Luke Bryan.
"I feel all music influences each other," Tongi told American Songwriter during a recent interview. "I don't care what people say. Soul music influenced country music. Country music influenced soul music. Hawaiian music influenced country music."
Of course, ending the year with an engagement will put the icing on the cake.
Iam Tongi Recently Celebrated His Two-Year Anniversary With Leah
Tongi and Leah recently celebrated their two-year anniversary together. Leah celebrated the occasion with a heartfelt message to her now fiancé.
"Being with you for 2 years has taught me soooo much, you've made me a better person and you continue to help me be the best version of myself," Leah wrote. "... Thank you for loving me and for choosing me [every day]. Seeing you accomplish your goals and dreams is what I love to see, I love that I can be a part of it... I love to love you and to be loved by you. I love you today and every tomorrow for eternity."
It's too soon for Tongi and Leah to have any firm ideas on when their wedding will take place. Still, it's fair to assume that at some point in 2026, their fans will get an update, whether that's a location or that the wedding has occurred.
