Angry Cracker Barrel Customers Aren't A Fan Of Its Makeover

Cracker Barrel's all over the country have been getting redone, and almost no one is happy about it. This is the remodel that no one asked for. I mean, seriously. No one. In fact, I think everyone who goes to Cracker Barrel is angry about it. Supposedly, the idea is to make the places look a lot more modern. (Whatever that means.)

Cracker Barrel Into The New Age

Honestly, I feel pretty good about that subheader. Maybe a little on the nose, but I think fun. And definitely true. They are just throwing themselves into the new age now, hoping to retain relevancy.

And also, before y'all tear me apart, I know this has been happening for a while. But it just keeps happening. And now that another has been remodeled this past week, it feels like a good time to talk about it.

In case you've been spending the last few months buried in a hole, you'll probably have seen what the restaurants now look like. Garbage. They are all solid white and bland. And when I say bland, I mean unsalted McDonald's fries bland. There is not a single ounce of character in these new buildings.

I bet Cracker Barrel HQ thinks they're doing something here. And I get it, everyone else is becoming flavorless too. Just look at all the fast food or fast casual dining options. Gone are the bright colors and retro feels. Now they've all been replaced by as muted colors as possible (if any), and screens.

The People's Reaction

Yeah, they're not happy. Just look at the comments in this review. Mind you, the review itself is actually super positive. This is someone really trying to sell the new look restaurant. And the people are having none of it.

I know y'all don't have all day, so I'll just pick out a few of my favorites and throw them down here. (Mind you, these are all real comments people left on this annoyingly positive review.)

"the new CEO is driving this business into the ground."

"It no longer looks old and country. [] I hate it."

"Not everything needs a millennial gray makeover. In fact most things don't."

I don't know, it just feels like maybe Cracker Barrel is making a mistake.
