The sudden death of Food Network star Anne Burrell has rocked fans and friends alike. Recently, she died Tuesday, June 17, at her home in Brooklyn, New York at 55 years old. So far, an autopsy is pending on her cause of death. But she was "unconscious and unresponsive" when authorities reached the scene.

This light was especially evident whenever you saw her on television. Moreover, her dedication to touching others and making them feel good was reportedly true into her final moments. Sources tell PEOPLE that Anne seemed fantastic the night before when she was performing improv comedy. Consequently, the news stuns everyone around her.

"Everyone said she was so great last night and so happy," one source says. Another source cosigns this statement, that Burrell "was in great spirits last night during and after the improv show. Typical fun, outgoing Anne, having a blast." As a result, everyone is "shocked and confused" because the Food Network star went home that evening seeming completely fine.
Her transition into improv is something Burrell was pursuing into her last days. Back in March, she broke her silence, telling all of her fans that she had been learning the tricks of the trade. "I know I have been kinda quiet of late. BUT I am taking "Improv for Actors" at @secondcitynyc !!! Can I just say it is SO much fun and I am learning so SO much!!! It really helps me get out of my shell... as if I needed that!!" Anne says on Instagram.
