Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone used to own the 80s and early 90s with their action movies. The former? Conan the Barbarian, The Terminator, Commando, Total Recall, Predator. The latter? Rocky, First Blood as Rambo, Cobra, Tango & Cash. These are two box office heavyweights. Perhaps Hollywood wasn't big enough for the both of em and that's why they decided to butt heads back in the day.

Recently, Arnold spoke with Andy Cohen on his SiriusXM radio show. There, he admits that him and Sly "hated each other" back in the day. "We were kind of attacking each other and doing nasty things and saying nasty things about each other and all these stupid things," he recalls. Then, he explains how, through mutual ties, the pair shed their egos and finally unite on a business venture.
Arnold Schwarzenegger Opens Up About Finally Ending Beef With Sylvester Stallone
"All of a sudden, I started working with Robert Earl and Keith Parish to create the Planet Hollywood franchise, those restaurants," Schwarzenegger recalls. "The next thing I know is I get a phone call from my lawyer, who was also Sly's lawyer, he said, 'Arnold, is there any kind of room for Sly in Planet Hollywood?'"
It took some time for the Conan star to ruminate on the possibility. They had spent all this time jabbing at one another. When you're two giants in your respective fields, clashing feels like second nature. However, Schwarzenegger eventually thinks it's time to let bygones be bygones and it actually works out in their favor. "That's actually a good idea, because it could bring us together," Arnold recalls thinking to himself. "And I wanted that. At that point I had grown out of my craziness."
In the end, shedding any ego and self described "craziness" allowed for other big stars to get in on Planet Hollywood. "Sure enough, we made it work," Arnold says. "And Bruce Willis became part of Planet Hollywood, Whoopi Goldberg became part of Planet Hollywood, Chuck Norris... It really was kind of an international cast."
