At this point, we're no strangers to awful national anthem performances. But recently, one Baltimore artist went viral for his rather unusual take on the Star-Spangled Banner.

On Thursday afternoon, the Baltimore Orioles faced off against the New York Mets. You can't have a match without the national anthem, however. Although this one was a little different.
On stepped Dan Deacon. A local celebrity whom all of those from Baltimore praise to no end. But if you're not from Charm Town, you no doubt will be left speechless and confused by his unorthodox approach.
With his auto-tune kit at hand, he belted out a rendition of the national anthem that we haven't really heard before. With a synthesized voice, he sang. I would go on to describe the rendition, but it's something you simply have to hear.
Thankfully, the musician posted the clip to his Instagram, where you can listen to the whole thing.
Pretty strange, right? I personally dig it. It's different, it's unique, and done by someone who certainly knows what they're doing. Even if it is pretty confusing at first.
The Orioles went on to win the game against the Mets 7-3, and many fans attribute their victory to Dan Deacon.
Of course, his peculiar performance has raised many eyebrows.
Haters Bash Dan Deacon, But Baltimore Stands Behind Him
On X, one user posted a video of the rendition, and wrote, "I think the Orioles have officially hit rock bottom."
Some in the comments agreed with the sentiment that the performance was strange and unwelcome.
"What's his claim to fame ?...it's not singing..." wrote one.
"Is this considered a disgrace to the National Anthem??" questioned another.
"You can literally see people thinking 'what the f--k is this?'" another commented.
However, a flood of support came crashing through.
"That kinda slapped tbh," praised one.
"No Dan Deacon slander will be tolerated," stood firm another.
"More like the Orioles have officially peaked tbh," opposed a third.
"All the losers saying this is bad don't deserve dan deacon," stated one more.
The support is honestly endless for the Baltimore hero. And it's beautiful.
