BBC Announces New Ozzy Osbourne Documentary

BBC announced the release of a new Ozzy Osbourne documentary, which will celebrate the singer's life and love for his family.

This July, fans all around the world mourned the loss of Ozzy Osbourne, a rockstar legend who died at 76. Osbourne was known for his work with the band Black Sabbath, as well as his work on the reality TV show, "The Osbournes." The show, which showcased his life behind the scenes, had to be cancelled due to ongoing health struggles. Now, the show is being merged into a film, set to release on the BBC on Monday, August 18th. The network is hoping the documentary will give fans an opportunity to mourn the star properly.

Just yesterday, the news outlet shared one final photo of Osbourne and his wife, Sharon. BBC also gave insight into what fans can expect from the documentary. "Filmed over three years, Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home tells the story of the singer and wife Sharon's lives as they try to complete their long-held dream of moving back to the UK." The BBC shared that the doc will be told through "intimate" access to Osbourne's family members. It will showcase moments of humor and emotion between him, Sharon, and his two sons.

The photo shared by the BBC shows Ozzy Osbourne and his wife sitting on the couch at home. It captures the nature of the documentary perfectly, described by the BBC as a display of "Ozzy's intense love for his exceptional family who were by his side through it all."

Fans Are Still Holding on to the Legend, Even After His Death

On July 22nd, days after the singer's death, a funeral procession was held in his hometown of Birmingham, England. Thousands of fans walked the streets in his honor, chanting "Ozzy, Ozzy, Ozzy." Englanders followed a hearse decked out in black and purple, and stopped by the Black Sabbath bench on their route. It was there that Osbourne's wife and children got to pay their respects before heading off to a private gathering.

Clare Sillery of BBC shared her hope for the documentary and a message to those grieving. "We are honored to have had the opportunity to film with Ozzy and his family. We hope [the film] brings comfort and joy to Ozzy's fans and viewers as they remember and celebrate his extraordinary life."

The documentary will premiere on Monday, August 18th, at 9 pm UK time, offering fans a special glimpse into the legend's life and hopefully providing a little closure as well.
