7 Best Baby Names Inspired By Country Music Singers That I Wished I Named My Child

Choosing a baby name can be hard, but by pulling inspiration from country music, songs and singers, it becomes easier. These are some of the baby names I found would do a newborn proud all the way through their life, all from country music.

Jolene

It's not a common name anymore, but I think it's a beautiful one. The song's namesake will be sung to the baby throughout its life. There are certainly worse fates.

Jolene, made famous by Dolly Parton, is a classic of country music. It's a great name too.

Hank-Williams

On its own, Hank is an odd choice. It's an old name now, and you won't find many people with it. But double it up to Hank-Williams and it has a certain well-to-do ring to it. You can pay respects to one of the grandfathers of the country music scene with your baby name and not give them a totally out of date one too.

Cash

You can't give the baby name 'Jonny' as a tribute to country music because it's too generic. Cash, however, has charm to it, and isn't immediately all about the man himself. It's also a bit of a good omen for the child's life growing up. A name like cash will either bring the child fame and fortune, or result in them heading up a west side gangster rap group.

Kentucky

There's nothing wrong with naming a child after a US state. Kentucky is so deeply embedded in country music it's outrageous. The only place mentioned more is Texas, perhaps. But, you can't call a kid Texas, that would just be mean. Kentucky, as a baby name inspired by country music, has connotations of country music, Elvis, whiskey, and bluegrass.

Pick Up Truck

Nobody loves singing about their trucks more than country music singers, so why not go all out and name your country music inspired child after one? There could be variations too. Why not go for Ford 150, or even Dodge? Tacoma is a lovely name that could be mistaken for something from abroad, too. I would avoid calling you kid Ram, though.

Waylon

Nobody calls their kid Waylon anymore, and I think it's a terrible shame. I don't know why it went out of fashion and I think it's up to us to bring it back as country music fans. Naming your baby Waylon is not only a nice nod to country music, with Waylon Jennings, but also a great way to make them stand out among their peers.

John Deere

What is the backbone of much of what country music singers choose to write about? That's right. Farming. And what is the backbone of American farming, I hear you say? Well, that's John Deere. Pay your respects to what has helped fund so many country singers by giving your baby name something they all relate to and often owe their livelihoods too.
