Beyoncé is now halfway to EGOT status.

EGOT stands for Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony—major awards in TV, music, film, and stage.
Beyoncé is expected to take home a Grammy whenever she releases new music (she has a whopping 35!). However, she recently took home an Emmy this week. The wildest part: the award technically wasn't related to music.
Beyoncé Won for Her Netflix Special
The Television Academy announced that Beyoncé won a Primetime Emmy as a costume designer in the Outstanding Costumes for Variety, Nonfiction, or Reality Programming category. The singer, along with the costume designer Shiona Turini, assistant costume designers Erica Rice and Molly Peters, costume supervisor Chelsea Staebell, and head of workroom Timothy White, earned the honor for their work on the Netflix special Beyoncé Bowl, which was the streamer's exclusive broadcast of the Christmas Day NFL halftime show.
The first round of Emmy winners in the Animation, Costume, Emerging Media Programming, and Motion Design categories was announced on Aug. 12. They will be presented at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Sep. 6-7, a week before the Primetime Emmy Awards. This news was reported by People.
Beyoncé Is Competing Against Her Husband in Another Emmy Category
Beyoncé is also nominated for two other Emmys for her work on Beyoncé Bowl: the Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special Emmy, alongside Alex Rudzinski, and the Outstanding Variety Special (Live) category.
Also nominated in the latter category is rapper Jay-Z. He was the executive producer of the Apple Music Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show with Kendrick Lamar.
This isn't the first time the couple have been nominated in the same category. They've gone head-to-head six times at the Grammys. For those keeping score: Beyoncé has won once against Jay-Z, who was awarded two awards. The remaining three went to other artists.
It's Been Quite a Year for Beyoncé
In addition to winning the Grammy for Best Country Album and her first Album of the Year Award for 'Cowboy Carter,' Beyoncé's three-month tour to support the record broke a huge record.
The 32-date tour grossed over $407.6 million in ticket sales. It became the highest-grossing country tour in history. It was also the shortest tour to gross over $400 million
While EGOT status eludes her, Beyoncé has certainly accomplished a great deal.
