Miley Cyrus recently presented her famous dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, with a special song she wrote. It was a gift for his 64th birthday two months ago. That track, "Secrets," evidently touched his heart deeply, Miley said per People via CBS News Sunday Morning. Billy Ray must have been thrilled by his daughter's caring thoughtfulness. She said, "My dad cried...everyone I say that to, they go, 'I remember when my dad cried.'"

Miley continued, "You don't see your dad cry a lot." She mentioned, "I don't know if I've seen my dad cry since his dad passed away. My dad, you know, I just haven't really seen that." For this occasion, he unbuttoned his emotions full-force, it seems.
The song also showcases two legendary icons from Fleetwood Mac - Mick Fleetwood and Lindsey Buckingham. Now that is really some birthday present! Miley and Billy Ray were said to have been estranged for a time, so the song was likely a healing factor.
Miley Felt That the Song Got an Important Message Across From Her to Billy Ray
The singer, 32, noted, "We didn't feel that there needed to be a whole conversation, because him and I just communicate better through song. And so once he got the song, it feels like it said something in a couple of minutes that would have taken, you know, maybe a family with a more structured, therapeutic dynamic a lot of sessions."
She went on to say, "But instead of us doing sessions, we just do studio sessions and we send a song and we say, 'I love you.' And that feels peaceful for us."
Miley further emphasized her point. "[We} always communicate through songs. Half the time, we don't even say, you know, 'good morning,' 'good night,' 'how are you?' It's just YouTube. My dad knows how to use YouTube now, so that's where he gets all his music, so he just sends me music constantly. And that's the best way that we communicate for sure."
Billy Ray Indicated His Gratitude
He wrote a sweet post about the song on Instagram on August 25, which was his birthday. Billy Ray wrote, "For my birthday, Miley gave me the gift of music and wrote me a song called Secrets and got my favorite musicians Fleetwood Mac to play on it! I love you Mile." He ended it with a red heart emoji.
