Blake Shelton Recruited Gretchen Wilson For 'The Road' Because She "Isn't Going To Take Any Crap"

In the Fall, Blake Shelton and Taylor Sheridan's show The Road will be hitting our screens. It turns out that Gretchen Wilson is involved in the show, because Shelton knows she won't "take any crap" from anyone.

Gretchen Wilson recently sat down with Taste of Country, where she talked about her involvement with the upcoming CBS show The Road. It turns out that she's going to be the road manager for the contestants that appear on the show. All because she's tough as nails.

In The Road, aspiring singers will be competing for a spot to open for Keith Urban. It's looking to be an incredibly authentic singing competition, as Keith Urban, and the singers, perform in real bars with real people just looking for a drink (or to see Urban).

Keith Urban isn't the only star involved in the show, however. Wilson will be the road manager for the singers, a role she was hand-picked by Shelton for.

"Blake said if you want somebody who isn't going to take any crap, who's going to tell it like it is, and who also has the heart to deal with these people and their emotions, it's Gretchen Wilson that you want to get," Wilson explained.

Gretchen Wilson Gushes Over Keith Urban

After her time on The Masked Singer, Gretchen Wilson is ready to remain in front of the cameras. And it sounds like she had a great time filming The Road. Especially getting to watch Keith Urban perform.

"Keith performed at every one of these shows," she said. "Just aces. This guy is just — he's got it together. All I could think every time I was watching him on stage was, 'I wanna be Keith when I grow up.'"

Apparently, watching Urban perform really moved her. It was a "profound" experience, per the outlet, that has stuck with her. Wilson also shared that watching him perform has inspired her to be a better version of herself.

If that's the case, I really gotta watch this show. It'll be on our screens after the summer, and it can't come soon enough.
