Just last week, Blake Shelton made an appearance at his Ole Red Bar in Tishomingo. Contrary to what you might expect to see from a man who has been dominating country music for about 25 years, he wasn't there to perform. Instead, he got up on stage to introduce his stepson to the crowd, Zuma Rossdale, who was headlining the show that night.

The son of "Hollaback Girl" singer Gwen Stefani came out wearing a cowboy hat in true country fashion. He began his set with a couple of 90s country hits, including Michael Montgomery's "Sold".
As Shelton said of his stepson, "It's one thing to learn how to play the guitar and sit around the house and mess with it, but it's a whole other thing to even have the nerve to come out and perform in front of people and also have the talent and the passion for it. And he's got all those things clicking for him right now."
The young starlet even did a rendition of Blake's hit "Ole Red", off his self-titled debut album.
The Talent Definitely Runs in the Family
Blake Shelton hit the ground running back in 2001 when he achieved No. 1 status with his first single, "Austin." Since then, the 5 time Entertainer of the Year has racked up 30 No. 1 hits and also earned himself a spot on The Voice as a coach from 2011 to 2023. When it comes to country, there's no better person for Zuma to be learning from than his stepdad.
Zuma is also the son of musician Gavin Rossdale and Gwen Stefani, who served as the lead vocalist for the ska-punk band No Doubt for several years before pursuing a solo career. With hits like "Rich Girl" and "What You Waiting For?" Stefani made her mark on pop. The singer shared in an interview with People that she was "bawling" when her oldest son, Kingston, made his debut at Ole Red last August. It would seem that now her second-oldest, Zuma, wants to give it a shot.
"It's crazy when you have children, and they learn what their gift is. You see their talent, and you're like, 'Wow.' I'm so happy for him that he has that outlet."
If Zuma wants to pursue it, he has all the support he needs. Especially from a proud stepdad and MC, Blake Shelton, who introduced him saying, "I'm most excited that this boy's country."
