Brett Favre Would Pick a "Patriot" To Perform at the Super Bowl Halftime Show—Not Bad Bunny

On his podcast, Brett Favre and his co-host discussed who they would like to see play at Levi's Stadium during the big game.

We're not sure if the NFL has asked Brett Favre for his suggestions on who should perform at the Super Bowl Halftime Show on Feb. 8, but he's eager to share them.

Despite the fact that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell is sticking with the league's original choice, Bad Bunny, there are plenty of people who believe that the league should reconsider.

You can now add Favre to that list.

Who Does Brett Favre Want To Perform at the Super Bowl Halftime Show?

When asked by co-host David Kano if he would stick with Bad Bunny on a recent episode of his 4th and Favre podcast, the retired Green Bay Packer quarterback said he wouldn't. Instead, he offered some of his suggestions for consideration.

"I'd pick someone who — maybe Jason Aldean - someone who loves this country and that everyone could relate to," he said. "I think Jason Aldean right now is as big of a patriot (as there is) and has a great voice."

Favre then added, "I like George Strait. That's old school. There are a lot of choices out there... I threw George Strait out. He might be like, 'I ain't doing that.' The guy has, I don't know how many number ones he's had. Good Lord, it's enormous. I don't think he's ever done it. That would be a pretty cool act to watch."

Has Favre Signed the Petition?

Favre is not the only person who believes Strait should perform at the Super Bowl Halftime Show.

There are now over 110,000 signatures on a Change.org petition to have the "King of Country" take over the slot.

"The 2026 Super Bowl offers a unique opportunity to pay tribute to American music's rich heritage by featuring George Strait in its halftime show," the petition reads. "His performances are known for their authenticity and raw emotion, qualities that are crucial as we aim to unite fans from coast to coast."

It adds, "The Super Bowl halftime show should unite our country, honor American culture, and remain family-friendly, not be turned into a political stunt. Bad Bunny represents none of these values; his drag performances and style are the opposite of what families expect on football's biggest stage. Again, George Strait embodies unity, tradition, and the timeless American music that truly deserves the 2026 Super Bowl spotlight."
