Nowadays, everyone tries to bully people on the internet. People feel like they can get away with all kinds of disrespect from behind the screen. They don't have to face the immediate consequences of their words and actions so why not let it fly? Additionally, they don't really have to confront or care about what the other person feels. They can scroll and keep it moving. It's particularly calloused and it affects younger people all over the world. Bunnie XO has felt her share of online harassment in her days. She has some pretty sage advice in dealing with internet heckling.

Ultimately, she says something we should all take to heart: if they can't say it to anyone in person, they aren't as tough as you think they are.

"This is a person who is hiding behind a keyboard, you know? So you can never take to heart what a person who can't say it to your face, you know. Never take to heart what somebody says to you over the computer because that's a coward," Bunnie explains.
That's why I call them out all the time because I'm just like, 'Oh, look at you being a douchebag.' Let me just put you on blast so that you get the attention you're seeking, buddy. I'm literally giving my cow haircuts and s**t and people are talking s**t, I'm like, 'Hold on, dude.' It's crazy," Bunnie XO adds.
It's true, a majority of the time, these people are desperately vying for your attention. Giving them any interest at all feeds exactly into what they want. At the end of the day, they won't say it straight up, likely because they don't want to get beat up over it. Personally, I've found success in being more mean and personal, reading their insecurities and firing it back at them. But the best way to handle it is in Bunnie XO's advice: shrug it off, they're cowardly.
