"If you are coming to the shows this weekend, a salad dressing bottle got the best of me, and ended with me having to get a few stitches in my thumb," she says.
Later, Pearce expounded on what happened that caused her to injure her hand.
"So last night, I was getting ready to eat dinner after my show," Pearce shares. "I went to open a bottle of ranch dressing that was a glass bottle. And when I went to open the bottle of ranch, it snapped off, and a piece of glass cut my thumb. So at first, my fiddle player and my assistant thought it wasn't that big of a deal.
"But all of a sudden," she continues, "I thought that ketchup was running down my hand, and it actually was blood. We had a few paramedics on site at the show, so we decided to just have a look at it, to see if it had any glass in it, or if it needed to be cleaned. And they told me that I needed a few stitches."
What Happened When Carly Pearce Went To The Hospital
The paramedics offered to take Pearce to the hospital, so she could be in and out a bit quicker than if she went in a car. And according to Pearce, that's where things got a bit dramatic.
"What I didn't know is that the ride to the ER was going to be in an ambulance. And it's policy that the patient has to sit on the stretcher and be strapped in," Pearce shares. She adds that after an X-ray to confirm there was no glass, they agreed she needed stitches.
The 35-year-old says it had been. years since she had stitches. She had blissfully forgotten how painful it was to numb a wound until they did it to her in the ER. Although a bit traumatic, the Grand Ole Opry member is "so grateful" that it wasn't worse.
"Obviously, I'm going to be fine in like a week," Pearce adds.
