Carrie Underwood clearly revels in singing gospel. Her faith is very much a part of her as a person and as an artist. She has recorded many moving songs of this nature, like "Jesus Take the Wheel" and "Something in the Water." Another one that I love is "See You Again," which conveys the message that those we love are not lost to us after their earthly existence ends. It is simply the beginning of a new chapter.

Underwood also gave a deeply soul-stirring performance of "How Great Thou Art" with Vince Gill on guitar in 2011. The event was the ACM Girls' Night Out Awards. People were listening raptly. Many rose to their feet when she finished.
A few days ago, per Whiskey Riff. Underwood recreated that same heartfelt magic when she performed "Pour Your Spirit Out" at the Rolling Hills Community Church. It's located in Franklin, Tennessee. Everyone must have been thrilled to have this amazing artist in their midst, singing with all her heart.
Underwood Sang at the Church Before
The former American Idol champ and current Idol judge brought her magnificent voice to this church before. Per the outlet, "A member of the church, Underwood previously performed Bethel Music's 'Goodness of God' for the congregation last year...." On Sunday, she did the same. The song she was singing had been done by Thrive Worship on the Let's Have Church LP.
Gospel Has Been a Prominent Theme of Her Career
Underwood, like many famous artists, got her start by singing in church years ago. In 2021, she dropped an album titled My Savior that featured time-honored gospel standards such as "Nothing But the Blood of Jesus" and "Old Rugged Cross." It nabbed a Grammy for Best Roots Gospel Album.
Underwood was asked after the Grammy ceremony if getting the award for that album was especially meaningful to her. She became emotional, per the outlet. "I'm gonna immediately start crying... I feel like it's more important, 'cuz I feel like this is one of the most important bodies of work I've ever been apart of, been able to do. This is one thing that I've wanted to do literally my whole career, I've wanted to make this alum, and I got to. And this just means the world to me. Man, I didn't last any length of time, did I?"
