Carrie Underwood Unveils Genuine Plan To End the 6-7 Craze

Carrie Underwood unveiled her plan during a recent episode of 'American Idol', where she is one of the judges this season.

Unless you've been living under a rock, it's likely that you've seen kids, teenagers, and even adults motioning their hands up and down like a pair of 1900s scales whenever the numbers six and seven are uttered in tandem. The craze has swept the globe, even resulting in a South Park episode, which we all know is the highest form of pop culture virality.

Crazes like six-seven have been going on for years. You only have to think back to the WWE-inspired "D-Generation X" arm movements, or the more widely-known "wass uuppp" from the 90s. However, country superstar Carrie Underwood believes she knows a way to stop the six-seven trend in its tracks, and it sounds incredibly simple.

"I have the cure. Every time the kids say '6 7,' we have to immediately say '5-3-0-9," Carrie said during an episode of American Idol. "And if we all band together and do that it will stop."

Underwood's idea stems from the Tommy Tutone song "867-5309/Jenny," which in itself was crazy back in the day. It's essentially fighting Gen-X fire with Millennial fire, after all, Millennials are the founders of internet culture, so surely they could win an online war of attrition.

Carrie Underwood Rose to Fame by Winning Season Four of American Idol

Having Underwood on the judges' panel for American Idol is fitting. After all, the show is responsible for her big break back on season four, which is, are you ready for this? 20 years ago!

Underwood beat Bo Bice in the finals, which acted as a launching pad toward superstardom. Vonzell Solompon, Anthony Fedorov, and Scott Savol rounded out that season's top five. Since winning season four, Underwood has released nine studio albums, won eight Grammys, toured the world, and stepped into the world of entrepreneurship.

Underwood is a genuine American Idol success story. The contestants will undoubtedly resonate with her rise to fame and look to her for guidance. Of course, if any of them decide to throw out a six-seven live on stage, their time on the show will likely be short-lived. And if we're being honest, nobody would blame her for hitting the buzzer.
