Beloved actress Catherine Bach of The Dukes of Hazzard is reportedly in the hospital in Los Angeles. The star, 71, who played the famed role of Daisy Duke, "had been admitted to a Los Angeles hospital 'on an emergency basis,'" according to Parade via the Facebook account of Dukes co-star, Ben Jones. He posted the concerning news about Bach on October 30.

Jones wrote per the outlet, "Breaking news! Our dear Catherine Bach has just been admitted to the hospital in Los Angeles on an emergency basis. Catherine has an embolism that probably developed as a result of a recent surgery. We will keep you posted, and Catherine will share her story as soon as she is recovered. She is so, so sorry to have to cancel her appearance at Cooter's this weekend. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Love, Ben and Miss Alma." Alma is Jones' wife.
What Is an Embolism?
According to the Cleveland Clinic web site , an embolism is "an obstruction or blockage in a blood vessel." It can prevent blood from flowing freely to organs or tissues. The web site added that a person's prognosis "depends on several factors, like the size, severity and location of the embolism."
Bach Had Upcoming Appearances Scheduled in Nashville
Per Parade, the actress was expected to be at Cooter's Place in Music City on November 1 and November 2. Jones, who is the owner of the establishment's Virginia, Nashville, and Tennessee sites, played Cooter Davenport on The Dukes of Hazzard.
The announcement of Bach's now-cancelled appearances was posted on Instagram. It stated in part,
"Important Announcement - Catherine Bach "Daisy Duke" Meet & Greet! Catherine Bach, the one and only Daisy Duke, will be appearing at Cooter's Garage in Nashville on Saturday, November 1st and Sunday, November 2nd!
Saturday,, November 1: 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Sunday, November 2: 11:00 AM - 12:30PM (Catherine must leave promptly at 12:30 PM to catch a flight - no exceptions.) We appreciate your understanding and can't wait to see y'all here for an unforgettable weekend with Daisy Duke herself!"
Bach Has Evidently Communicated With Her Former Co-Star
There is some encouraging news about Bach's condition. A post on the Dukes of Hazzard County's Facebook page states, "UPDATE: Catherine Bach remains in the hospital. But John Schneider has contacted her by text, and Cathy assured him that she will be fine! (Understandably, her scheduled appearance at Cooter's Place this weekend is canceled.)
