When I order a filet, I'm not looking for fake steak.

And I know for a fact that's not just me. A cattle farmer has released a video of himself dissecting a fake filet. The man was served this fraudulent meat at a steakhouse in Oklahoma. But my goodness, was he not happy about it.
Filet Enjoyers Beware The Fake Steak
Throughout the Instagram post, the man dissects precisely why this cut of meat isn't the real deal.
The first point he brings up is the size. He harps on the fact that "it's really hard to get an 8-ounce fillet that's truly a fillet because they don't get that big in animals very often,"
So, for those meat lovers out there, be a little skeptical with how big a cut you're getting. Because it appears there aren't a lot of places that can sell large filets.
Additionally, he brings up, "When it came perfectly round, I should've suspected something." Which, of course, is something we were all thinking. (But for those who don't know why that's crazy, maybe he can explain it further?) "[Y]ou can definitely tell this is glued together. Probably a sirloin that's been tenderized and glued together to look like a fillet."
So once again, be on the lookout for perfectly symmetric shapes with your filets. I guess it's unlikely for a real one to come out without some geometric imperfections.
I feel I also have to point out that this isn't a review by a random guy. This is a rancher who, in the post claimed, "I raise and process around 100 cattle per year[.]"
That's quite a level of experience with steak that this man has to back up his findings.
The People Are Not Happy
This fake steak post also took off on X, and let's just say people have some serious opinions about it.
