Despite his shock injury, Fieri recently told Entertainment Tonight that he had booked a trip to Asheville, N.C., to host a bottle-signing event for his Santos Spirits tequila brand. Fieri also made the trip to record an episode of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.

"They had been hit with such devastation, so we went out there and shot a Triple D because we said we were going to," Fieri said. "The last thing I wanted to do was disappoint these people. You had all these folks that had just been hit so hard. We were planning on going out right before they got hit with those floods. So then we had a program set up to go and then I got injured."

During the same interview, Fieri revealed that he'd initially made arrangements to head to Asheville in 2024. Unfortunately, Hurricane Helene had other ideas, as it caused significant damage to multiple parts of North Carolina.

Guy Fieri Sustained His Injury When Filiming 'Flavor Town Food Fight'

When speaking with Fox News, Fieri revealed that his "freak accident" occurred while filming Flavor Town Food Fight, leading to a serious leg injury.

"[I] slipped down a set of steps and one foot went forward and the other foot got caught on the threshold," Fieri said. "So, you know, it extended me out. I looked like I was probably doing the splits, but when my right leg compressed into itself the giveaway point and the doctor said he's never seen — you know, in 20 years — he hasn't seen a tear in the biggest, thickest part of your quad in half. Yeah, it sucked."

Fortunately, it appears that Fieri will make a full recovery. However, it won't be an easy road. He told Fox that he would need to completely stay off the leg for eight weeks. From there, you would expect that he could begin rebuilding strength.

Nevertheless, Fieri is unlikely to be in a kitchen anytime soon, much to the likely chagrin of his family.
