Tatum's health update came via a video he uploaded to Instagram.
"I don't know if you can see that or not, but the scar's actually healing up pretty nice," he said. "Getting some mobility back. It's atrophied so much though. I feel like a toddler in the gym. Good news is, though, the doctor finally gave me the green light so I can train. So it's a good day finally. This has been a rough one."
The "Roofman" star then went into the details regarding the mental health battle he's been fighting since undergoing the surgery.
"I've been mentally up and down in my head more than I think I've ever been in my life," he continued. "It's a beautiful day today. I've gotten the train. So. I'll give you guys some updates along the way, but I got six weeks until the next film. It's going to be a grind. Wish me some luck."
Hopefully, getting back into the gym will help Tatum's mental health. It's also fair to assume that working toward being back on set will help keep him focused as he comes toward the tail-end of his recovery.
