Cher Mourns The Loss Of Val Kilmer In Heartfelt Tribute

Val Kilmer's death from pneumonia came after a long struggle with throat cancer and declining health. Although his loss is a sad one, he left behind a legacy of films, playing the role of the hard man of Hollywood for an entire generation. Cher recently spoke out about the passing of Val Kilmer with a moving tribute.

Val Kilmer and Cher dated for a couple of years back in 1982. Despite their 13-year age gap, the pair looked like a happy couple. I mean, Cher is Cher; he could hardly say no. She recently paid her respects to her former lover in a post on X.

"VALUS Will miss u. U Were funny, crazy, pain in the ass, GREAT FRIEND, kids [love] U. BRILLIANT as Mark Twain, BRAVE here during ur sickness," she posted.

She looks back on their time together, with him as only a young man. They appear to have maintained a healthy relationship after their breakup.

Val Kilmer's health deteriorated over the years, leading to his death. He suffered from throat cancer in 2014 and never fully returned to full strength. He had needed a tracheotomy, and he had suffered from ailing health since.

Eventually, he succumbed to pneumonia, but he left us as a well-loved and respected actor. Cher is only one of many who have paid their respects to Val Kilmer since his death.

Respects Pour In For Val Kilmer

Kilmer had an illustrious career on the screen, starring in films such as Top Gun, Batman Forever, and even taking a role as Jim Morrison in The Doors. He had worked with many famous names in his years as an actor, rubbing shoulders with some of the greats.

His character and style inspired a number of people, including Cher, to pay respects at his passing. Francis Ford Coppola described him as "a wonderful person to work with and a joy to know."

Michael Mann, director of Heat, also posted on his social media, paying respects to Val Kilmer. "While working with Val on 'Heat,' I always marveled at the range, the brilliant variability within the powerful current of Val's possessing and expressing character. After so many years of Val battling disease and maintaining his spirit, this is tremendously sad news."
