Peyton List has risen to fame by playing a teenager. She was fantastic in her role as Tory Nichols in the TV sensation Cobra Kai, and then followed it up with some exceptional performances as Maddie Nears in Paramount+ hit School Spirits.

Now, List is taking on another high-school-based role, except this time it's on the stage.
According to PEOPLE, List will assume the role of Heather Chandler in the Off-Broadway rendition of the 1989 cult classic Heathers. Kim Walker originally played that role in the movie. List will debut on stage from Mon. Jan 26, replacing Jodie Steele.
"I'm drawn to characters who are powerful, complicated, and a little dangerous," List said in a statement. "Heather Chandler is an icon for a reason — she's larger than life, hilarious, terrifying, and deeply symbolic. Stepping into this role is thrilling, and I can't wait to enter my bad girl era. It'll be so very."
By accepting the spot on Broadway, List will have a jam-packed start to 2026. The third season of School Spirits is due to release in January, and shortly after, she will be performing live in front of an audience. It's also worth noting that List is also an executive producer on School Spirits, so it will be interesting to see how that potentially impacts her availability if the show begins filming for a fourth season.
Peyton List Is Building a Strong Resume
At 27, List is already building a strong list of credits. Holding down a starring role in a hit TV show is one thing, but building off her success on Cobra Kai so quickly has been impressive. Of course, List isn't new to the TV screen.
Her first foray into the entertainment world came in 2002, when she made an uncredited appearance on As The World Turns. However, it wasn't until two years later that she got her first credited role, a single episode appearance on All My Children.
Since then, List has appeared in Disney Monstober, Diary Of A Wimpy Kid 2: Rodrick Rules and Jessie, among other things.
List is clearly a rising star in the business, and with an on-stage role to her name, could find herself fielding new opportunities in the forseeable future.
