Coca-Cola Just Dropped a Flavor at Dolly Parton's Theme Park

It's uncertain if Dolly Parton had a hand in creating the new creamy cherry flavor, but fans do seem to love it.

There have been some big changes at Coca-Cola recently. Last month, President Donald Trump made public comments that may have encouraged the drink company to release a new Coke made with cane sugar. Now the soda company and Dolly Parton have dropped a new flavor called 40th Pop Fizz.

However, before you try to get your hands on this soda, there's a catch.

How Did Dolly Parton and Coca-Cola Come Together?

This collaboration comes as Dollywood, located in the Great Smoky Mountains of Pigeon Forge, TN, prepares for its 40th anniversary next year.

Co-founded by Parton, the theme park was recently named the top amusement park in the U.S. by TripAdvisor. The site praised its "down home feel" and "high-velocity roller coasters and thrill rides."

If you've been to Dollywood, you know people come for the attractions but stay for the treats. There's the famous Cinnamon Bread and the 25-pound (!) apple pie. Parton, who holds the title of the park's "Dreamer-in-Chief," has a hand in nearly everything that happens at the park. That includes everything from the roller coasters to what gets served at the concession stand.

This new soda flavor is the latest addition to Dollywood's spectacular selection of sweet snacks. It was introduced as a way to usher in the theme park's fourth decade. However, if you want to try it, you'll have to come to Tennessee. Dollywood's 40th Pop Fizz is only poured from Coca-Cola Freestyle machines throughout the park.

What Does Dolly's Coke Flavor Taste Like?

Commenters already want 40th Pop Fizz to be the official flavor of Tennessee. But before we sign that petition, shouldn't you try it first?

Facebook users have been offering their opinions. Many love mixing it with Sprite. Others remark that it tastes similar to Mr. Pibb. Almost everyone agrees it tastes sweeter than most sodas.

One commenter wrote, "Big Red Cream Soda. Brings back childhood memories!"

Another added, "[Tastes] like cherry and cotton candy mix as a soda, it's also on the really sweet side for me, but still wasn't bad."
