Cody Johnson is all about breaking up the division. For him, I'm not sure he even thinks about why people could be protesting in the first place. All of the particulars, the reasons why people feel anything, doesn't matter to him. In typical country man fashion, he still has the rose tinted glasses on what America is all about. Consequently, when it came to talking about the civil unrest and the injustices that have spawned from it, Cody clutches his flag just a little tighter.

Recently, Johnson took a moment from his concert to address the current state of affairs in the U.S. There, he expresses his desire to shed all of the division. Instead, he would prop up unity through song and the good ol' star spangled banner. "All I've seen is division... but tonight, at my show, we're gonna talk about unity," Cody says. "Earlier I mentioned how we're all different, but you know there's three things we all have in common... those things are red, white and blue.
Cody Johnson Props Up The Military Amidst Current Protesting
Do you know why it's ok to disagree, why it's ok to be different, to believe differently," Johnson prompts the crowd. "Because before most of us were born, an American soldier gave their life for the right to be different in this country and to be free.
Then, Cody takes his opportunity to sing with the crowd in hopes of that aforementioned unity. That way, people can get that idealist spirit of his vision for America. Afterwards, he launches into a favorite in country lifestyle, "God Bless America." "On the news today, there were a lot of protests for one reason or another. All across the country, people were protesting something. But you know what I have? I have a microphone and 25,000 Americans," Cody emphasizes. "So tonight, we are going to protest the protests. We're gonna sing a song out of unity."
