The heart attack that changed the life of Colt Ford hit him in April. It was a real eye-opener and made him consider changing a few things in his life. A heart attack can often be brought on by an unhealthy lifestyle. For Ford, it was a sign to start shedding some pounds.

In an interview with People magazine, he admitted that he was not living well. Prior to the heart attack, he said he used to pig out on terrible food. His diet consisted of fried chicken and Mountain Dew. These are both delicious, but too much of a good thing can be bad.

Before he had the heart attack, Colt Ford said he had already been trying to get healthy. In 2022, he was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease. This had put him on the path to a healthier lifestyle. By the time he was taken down with a heart attack, he had dropped from 340 lbs to 250 lbs.

Heart Attack Hit Ford Out Of Nowhere

Despite ditching the bad diet and losing weight, a heart attack still nailed Ford. "I was working on losing weight and feeling great. Then all of a sudden ..." he remembers. The shock of it really kicked him into gear. Even his doctor was amazed he had managed to survive the ordeal.

Since the heart attack, he has left behind the greasy fat-filled food. "I've changed everything. If I go by a Whataburger, I'll eat a grilled chicken sandwich," he told People. "I don't do all the fries and stuff ... McDonald's used to be my s--t, and I loved it, but I haven't even craved it."

Sometimes, we are given a second chance. The heart attack Colt Ford suffered was a warning from his body that he needed to make a lifestyle change. It is easy to forget just how delicate our bodies are. The occasional fast food binge is fine, but too often and it can be fatal.
