Country Royalty Wynonna Judd Wins the Internet With Viral "Holy Airball" TikTok Trend

We're just disappointed that there isn't a trophy for her to add to what we're sure is an already crowded mantlepiece.

What Is the "Holy Airball" Trend, Anyway?

If you've spent any time on X or TikTok, then chances are you've seen this meme play out in the wild. A video typically starts with a false or off-base impression about yourself, only to destroy those assumptions with a slam dunk of truth.

One spectacular example of how the trend works is a post by Ava Phillippe, which she uploaded several weeks ago. In the video, she wrote, "told him my mom's a lawyer." When asked what firm she works for, she displays pictures of her mom, the actress Reese Witherspoon, in her iconic role in Legally Blonde.

Do you get the idea?

While the previous instance shows you how it's done, now you're going to see how 61-year-old Wynonna Judd took it to the next level.

How Did Wynonna Judd Jump on the Trend?

Judd's video, captioned "Love this trend," begins with adorable pictures of her with her mother playing the guitar. The first caption reads: "Told them I used to sing with my mom."

You can already see where this is going, right?

The following caption says, "They said 'oh like in church?'"

The last picture is a promo photo of the red-haired Judd and her mother, Naomi, together as The Judds. #Holyfrickenairball

Looks like a three-pointer to us.

On the Internet, Game Always Recognizes Game

Of course, the fans went wild. Users said that Judd had "won the trend." Even Jelly Roll's wife, Bunnie XO, dropped "LEGENDS" in the comments.

In the off-chance you are unfamiliar with The Judds, the mother-daughter duo had 14 songs reach the top of the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. The performers also won five Grammy Awards for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal and a whopping nine Country Music Association awards.

The Country Music Hall of Fame winners broke up in 1991 after Naomi's hepatitis C diagnosis. Judd went on to have a wildly successful solo career.
