Zac Brown and Kendra Scott Wanted Something "Simple"

Back in January, the 52-year-old Scott said that she and Brown were at a phase in their lives where "simple is better."

Scott has been married three times, most recently to Thomas Evans, who works in the insurance industry. The 47-year-old Brown has also been married twice before his marriage to Scott, most recently to model Kelly Yazdi.

"We already feel married in our hearts anyway, so we just want it to be something with our kids, something small and sweet," she added. "This summer we're going to go on a vacation somewhere and take the kids with us. And yeah, we can't wait for it."

How Did Brown and Scott Meet?

Shortly after his divorce from Yazdi, a mutual friend set Brown up with Scott. The couple made their relationship official in May of last year when they were spotted at the American Music Awards.

Then, on July 24, Brown proposed to Scott while the couple was on a boat ride in Africa. The singer gave her a massive 3-carat pink diamond ring. Brown said on the TODAY show that it was intimidating to get Scott an engagement ring.

"What are you gonna get somebody that designs jewelry?" he said. "But it's incredible. Incredible. So happy."

And while this isn't Brown and Scott's first time at the altar, the singer explained that it doesn't make his marriage to Scott any less memorable.

"It's not our first go-around," he said. "But it's definitely so much different than anything I've experienced before... We can relate and support each other on a level that just hasn't happened before."
