Hardy has been one of Nashville's biggest up-and-coming acts for years now, ever since he signed to Big Loud Records. Little do fans know, though, that while on tour in 2022, Hardy almost lost his life in a dangerous accident.

The singer revealed in an interview with Rolling Stone that if things had gone differently, he could have gotten decapitated. While on a trip back from Bristol to Nashville, Tennessee, Hardy's tour bus ran off the road. He shared, "It went from being a bus to a movie set, like a bomb went off."
The country singer explained how, when he woke up afterwards, he realized just how bad it could have been. "the bus windows are long ... and my head was underneath the top of the panel. If we would have slid another foot, it'd have cut my head off." He went on to share how he tried to get help, but struggled to get another car to stop on the road.
"I crawled out of the front windshield, which was busted open. The bus had gone so far down the hill that you couldn't see it from the highway. So, all these trucks and cars were flying by and they couldn't see us. I had a black hoodie with a big white circle on it, and all I could think to do was take that hoodie off and try to wave people down. I did that for 30 minutes and I could not get somebody to stop."
That had to have been a terrifying situation for the country singer, who has since released multiple projects.
Hardy's Journey From Writer to Artist
Hardy first gained recognition in Nashville as a songwriter, writing hits for the group Florida Georgia Line, as well as songs like Morgan Wallen's "Up Down". The singer shared in an interview with American Songwriter how much his songwriting has changed over the years.
He said of his early songs that they "were definitely not the best songs in the world." He said, "I think the big thing is they had a hook. I remember I wrote a song about how if you know those three country chords, you can get the party started. That's literally how it all began, and the songs slowly got better and better from there."
And since then, the songs certainly have. Fans can now buy tickets for the tour for Hardy's latest album, COUNTRY! COUNTRY!, which kicks off in Feburary.
