Can you even imagine Darius Rucker living anywhere else but the American south? Hootie and The Blowfish's Cracked Rear View is as American as it gets, on par with hamburgers and hot dogs at cookouts or a Sunday afternoon watching football. I don't listen to "Wagon Wheel" and think about Australia or Germany. Divorcing Rucker and his music from the U.S. feels spiritually incorrect. However, it looks like the country and southern rock has packed his bags to live overseas now.

Recently, the Hootie and The Blowfish frontman posted on Instagram, sharing a major life update. He's currently living in London, England and that he's going to perform some shows to celebrate the shift. "I can't move to London and not play U.K. shows! Do you have your tickets yet? Limited VIP packages still available," Rucker writes in his caption.

It's not immediately evident whether or not this is a permanent move or not. Moreover, it's not known if he still has somewhere to live in the United States, especially given that he has three kids in the country. But for the foreseeable future, it looks like Rucker is going to live amongst the British.
Hopefully, those aforementioned U.K. shows he announced will go better than his last big performance. A few months ago, East Tennessee State University played a football game against Western Carolina where Darius was supposed to perform. However, in a bizarre turn of events, Rucker didn't really do much of anything. Instead, he let the crowd sing "Wagon Wheel" to him. The crowd singing to the artist is completely normal but evidently, he didn't even mix in any personal performance. Instead, he acted as a mildly enthusiastic hype man for his own record. Apparently, the university didn't pay him for his visit so I guess he didn't have to do anything. But I hope London gets better shows out of Rucker.
