Dasha Claps Back at Hate Comments via a Dramatic Reading on Her TikTok

Country star Dasha took to TikTok to clap back at recent hate comments, using humor to address haters directly by doing a "dramatic reading."

Rising country artist Dasha is no stranger to backlash. Ever since she stepped onto the country scene with "Boots Stop Workin," people have had a lot to say. Not only have they been debating whether Dasha's sound fits the genre, but they've also just been incredibly critical. It wouldn't be the first time the internet has had too much to say about someone they know nothing about. Well, this week, Dasha decided that she'd had enough of online trolls and chose to clap back in her own way.

Just a week ago, the country singer posted a TikTok directed at some of these "keyboard karens." Mouthing the words to a sound that says, "jealousy's a disease, remember that," she said, "this is dedicated to all the keyboard karen's out there in my comments." So, it wasn't a surprise when a day later, she chose to address the "keyboard karen's" even more directly.

Dasha started her video off strong, saying, "Hey guys, today I'm gonna be doing a dramatic reading of hate comments." The singer went on to select specific comments, some about her talent, others about her body, and give her take. Some of the comments she addressed were as follows:

"Add a chest, and she would be the best."

"I got a question, did she get dressed in the dark?"

"You would think she would accidentally hit the notes once in a while."

Dasha was also quick to address comments that weren't truthful. To a user who commented, "Canadian talent at its best here," the singer replied, "Well, I'm not Canadian, so." Fans were thrilled to see the singer clapping back and showed support for turning online hate into a humorous situation.

"I'm glad you can laugh it off and give them their two seconds of fame."

"Haters will always hate."

"I'm glad she can laugh at a lot of this and not just get upset because people just suck and just want to pull people down. Really if y'all don't have anything nice to say keep it to yourself."

The singer has come a long way since going viral in 2024, even if some people aren't giving her credit. She's performed at festivals and stadiums, won a People's Choice Award, and even been nominated for an ACM. However, posting a lighthearted response to hateful online trolls is what shows the most growth. Just like that fan remarked, haters will always hate, and Dasha has proven that she can handle the hate like a pro. That's something to be proud of, even if it doesn't come in the form of a nomination or an award.
