We got the chance to speak to viral sensation and rapidly rising country music star DEMPS ahead of her latest single release, "Single Mama."

Her new track speaks not only to the single mothers out there but also to the women looking for the strength to go it alone. Already, the teasers released to her millions of online followers have garnered a lot of attention.
We got the chance to not only get a sneak preview of the upcoming single, but also get to know the story behind DEMPS new track.
Superstar And Supermother
As well as managing a huge online presence, blossoming music career, and touring, DEMPS is a mother before everything else. How does she possibly juggle it all and have the time to be a mother on top?
"Honestly, it is something that I'm still figuring out. My kid definitely doesn't have a normal life. Instead of going to after-school sports or activities, she's coming to band practice with me for upcoming shows. It's definitely something that I've had to learn and to find a recipe to balance to be an artist and a mother. That's for sure."
That's never a bad thing, though. Being brought up in a world of music is only going to enrich a child's life.
A Star-Studded Foundation
Now, with DEMPS releasing 'Single Mama', it's time for her to branch out on her own. This marks the beginning of a solo writing career. But she's worked with some greats in the past. There were a few memorable ones, too.
"I mean, Kelsey Ballerini, obviously that was huge for me with 'B---h on Wine'. Maren Morris, Hardy, those are big names in country music. I was so excited to be able to even allow to sing those songs."
But Now DEMPS is Getting Personal With 'Single Mama'
Now, it's time for DEMPS to speak from the heart about a subject dear to her and her daughter. The new track 'Single Mama' isn't just for her. It's for all the other mothers out there, fighting for their family.
"Now I feel like I'm in my path of songwriting and just writing my own story. That's how 'Single Mama' came about because of my past and how I'm raising a little girl on my own. Honestly, teasing the song, I didn't think it would get the reaction that it's gotten."
And it's blown up.
"I think going into writing this song, I wanted it to feel for the mamas that are going through the hardest times of their life that this is the song that they'll just give them their power back and to make them feel stronger again."
It's been a process for DEMPS, too. She's had a self-proclaimed wild ride. I asked just how much she finds that producing music helps her work through it all. Speaking about her upcoming single, DEMPS recalled her journey.
"Literally, I had to close my eyes and picture the day I left and all the hard things that I had to deal with in that relationship, and just saying goodbye for the last time. And honestly, it was very healing. It was like if I ever saw him again, I would almost somewhat forgive him, but not forgive him, if that makes sense."
I think plenty of people can relate.
Catch DEMPS Touring Her New Tracks This Year
For all the fans out there, DEMPS can be caught this summer touring around the US. There are plenty of dates to be announced, and although she couldn't tell us too much, there were a few exciting hints. Without letting all her secrets loose, I wanted to know what it was she was most pumped for.
"So obviously I'm going to be visiting cities that I've never actually ever been to, so I'm so excited. A whole new world."
She also told us she will be "bringing out some special guests with me that people are going to be pretty shocked to see. I am super excited about this upcoming headlining tour that I'll be going on around August. By then I'll have more music out because it seems like every week I'm in the studio writing a song and cutting a track."
