Of course, this perception changed when the former WWE superstar died at the age of 71 last month. Yet, even after his passing, we now have photographic evidence that Hogan can bend the sky to his will in the beyond.
Hulk Hogan's Death Was Devastating
The charismatic Hogan (real name Terry Bollea) was inescapable in the 1980s. He quickly became the face of the World Wrestling Federation, which later became the WWE. People tuned in every week to see Hogan win matches in the most spectacular fashion.
WWE owner Vince McMahon used Hogan's larger-than-life persona to take his league mainstream. The phenomenon known as Hulkamania drove up demand for the league's pay-per-view events. Wrestling-themed toys and other merchandising flew off the shelves. There was even a Saturday morning cartoon show revolving around the league's stars.
Fans of a certain age truly believed that Hogan was immortal. Perhaps this is why his sudden death came as a shock to so many.
It came as a surprise to Eric Bischoff. Hogan's friend and business partner shared his thoughts on the wrestler on Fox News' The Story with Martha MacCallum soon after his death was announced.
"He had a big heart, and until you got to know Terry Bollea, you were overwhelmed by Hulk Hogan," said Bischoff. "And that was his life. But he was one of the kindest and most generous people I've ever met."
Those Who Looked to the Sky Saw Something Truly Remarkable
Hogan was put to rest at a private funeral service at Indian Rocks Baptist Church in Largo, Florida, on August 5. Triple H, Stephanie and Vince McMahon, Ric Flair, Kid Rock, and Dennis Rodman were reportedly in attendance.
It was one of Hogan's friends who captured an unusually shaped formation above the service. Country music Dee Jay Silver snapped a picture of it and uploaded it to his Instagram account.
The clouds above share a resemblance to Hogan's iconic wrestling pose. The moment was proof that even in the beyond, Hogan had the power to change the world.
"We said our final goodbyes to my hero today!" Silver typed in the caption. "We saw you in the sky looking over us! Hulkamania will live forever brother! RIP my friend!"
Make no mistake, dear reader. Hulkamania will never die.
