Dolly Parton Blasts Fake AI Pic Allegedly Showing Her and Reba McEntire: "They Had Reba at My Death Bed"

Country music legend Dolly Parton had a scathing reaction to a phony AI image that depicts Reba McEntire allegedly at Parton's death bed. The impetus for the fake pic probably came from recent rumors about the state of Parton's health. The speculation about the "9 to 5" singer's well-being got fueled by her cancellation of several Las Vegas concert dates. Then came her sister's plea for prayers for Parton. At any rate, Parton, 79, has pushed back hard against the phony and misleading AI photo.

Parton Posted a Video To Calm Her Jittery Fans

Per People via an Instagram video, Parton said this with wry wit and some vitriol. "Did you see that AI picture of Reba and me? Oh lordy, I mean, they had Reba at my death bed and we both looked like we need to be buried. But I thought, oh my lord, but if I was really dying, I don't think Reba would be the one at my death bed. She might come visit me earlier."

The comments came in the video released by the singer and actress on October 8. She clarified her health situation for concerned fans. She assured everyone that she is alright. "I figured if you heard it from me, you'd know that I was okay. So anyhow, that's what I wanted to say, and I'm not ready to die yet. I don't think God is through with me, and I ain't done working."

Her Sister Had Issued a Call for Prayers for the Superstar

Sparking more feverish chatter about Parton's condition was her sister Freida's request that people pray for her. She posted on

Facebook on October 7. "Last night, I was up all night praying for my sister, Dolly. Many of you know she hasn't been feeling her best lately. I truly believe in the power of prayer, and I have been lead to ask all of the world that loves her to be prayer warriors and pray with me. She's strong, she's loved, and with all the prayers being lifted for her, I know in my heart she's going to be just fine. Godspeed, my sissy Dolly. We all love you!"

Freida then wrote a second

Facebook post shortly after to dial down the public's worries about Parton. "I want to clear something up. I didn't mean to scare anyone or make it sound so serious when asking for prayers for Dolly. She's been a little under the weather, and I simply asked for prayers because I believe so strongly in the power of prayer. It was nothing more than a little sister asking for prayers for her big sister. Thank you all for lifting her up. Your love truly makes a difference."
